Quick Redirects & 404 Shopify App Uninstall Guide

If you no longer need the Quick Redirects & 404 app for your Shopify store, follow the steps below to uninstall it properly and ensure a smooth transition without disrupting existing redirects.

Step 1: Access the Shopify Admin Panel

  1. Log in to your Shopify store admin panel.
  2. In the left-hand sidebar, click on Apps to view the list of installed applications.

Step 2: Locate and Uninstall the Quick Redirects & 404 App

  1. Scroll through the list to find the Quick Redirects & 404 app.
  2. Click the Delete button next to the app name.
  3. Confirm the deletion by selecting Remove on the pop-up confirmation window.

Step 3: Verify Redirect Status

  1. Ensure that critical redirects remain functional after uninstalling the app.
  2. Go to Online Store > Navigation > URL Redirects to review any Shopify-native redirects.
  3. If necessary, manually recreate important redirects using Shopify's built-in URL Redirect feature.

Step 4: Remove App Code (If Applicable)

If you manually added any code snippets during installation, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Online Store > Themes.
  2. Click Actions > Edit Code.
  3. Look for any code related to the Quick Redirects & 404 app (usually in theme.liquid or snippets folder).
  4. Delete these snippets carefully to prevent errors.

Step 5: Confirm Successful Uninstallation

  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies.
  2. Test previously redirected URLs to confirm they are functioning correctly.
  3. Check Google Search Console for any new 404 errors and resolve them promptly.
