How to Rename a Payment Method?

Steps to Rename a Payment Method using Ultimate Checkout Customizer

  1. Open the App
    • Go to your Shopify Admin.
    • Navigate to Apps > Ultimate Checkout Customizer.
  2. Go to "Payment Customizations"
    • In the app dashboard, find the "Payment Customizations" block.
    • Click the “Manage” button under it.
  3. Create a Rule-Set
    • Click on the “Create Customization” button in the top right corner.
    • Select the "Rename Payment Method" option.
  4. Add Customization Information and Set Conditions
    • Enter a Customization Name
This is the title of your rule-set. Use a descriptive name for easy identification later (e.g., "Rename COD to Pay at Door").
    • Type the Original Payment Method Name
Enter the exact name of the payment method you want to rename (e.g., Cash on Delivery, PayPal, Credit Card).
    • Enter the New Name
Type the new name that should appear during checkout (e.g., Pay at Door, UPI via XYZ, etc.).
    • Add Conditions
Click on the “Add Conditions” button to set your preferred conditions. You can choose from:
      • Cart Total
      • Country
      • Customer Tag
      • Customer Type
      • Product Tag
      • Shipping Country
      • Line Item Properties (line attributes)

Note: If you do not add any conditions, the payment method will always appear with the new name for all customers.

You can create multiple conditions using OR and ANY logic to control when the name change should apply.

  5. Save and Publish
    • Once all details and conditions are configured, click “Save” to activate the rule and apply the renamed label.
